Time to Read: 3 minutes.
With 50 (Coincidence, I think now!) accepting the invitation and most in attendance, it was a great gathering to kick off our 50th reunion.

Punahou74 gathered in force to kick off our start down the road to our 50th reunion. Not only were the number in attendance great to see but the people who made that number were impressive: many first timers to the reunion planning cohort. That’s exciting. No time like the present to welcome fresh faces and the new ideas that they bring to the table.

As noted in the previous blog post, Renee Ahuna Cabrinha took a Facebook Live video of the event to share the event with those who could not be there in person. The video takes you to the kick off party and is fun to watch.
You can also see the “business end” of the gathering to learn about what is the next step down the road. Click here to watch the video. Next time, watch live and share your comments as you watch!
For those who want it written out, here are the reunion basics that were covered during the short presentation:
- We were introduced to our Alumni office contacts: Jena Tanaka ’90 Kaneshiro and Marni Bienfang ’97 Sakumoto. Both were trained by Linda Sutton ’74 Torres!
- Mary Jane Markoskie and Tom Farrell have accepted invitations to lead our reunion effort. Tom will be focused on the class gift and promised to get in touch with each of us personally!
- Marcia Barrett Wright made sure that we had great food to eat. Caramel cuts? Of course.
- Alumni week is currently projected to occur June 3 to June 9, 2024. Luau for June 8. Dates will be confirmed April, 2023.
- A virtual orientation via Webex will be held on Thursday, February 23 at noon Hawaii time. All Punahou74 who have emails on file with Punahou School will be invited to attend. So, if you want that invitation, make sure that Punahou has your correct contact information. Very important!
Facebook Live. Webex. Every effort is being made to bring reunion planning to classmates wherever they are. So, can you be a part of reunion planning, yes! Just join us!!
Any comments re the video? Should we make an effort to have such videos moving forward? Any other ways we can communicate better? Please let me know by commenting on this post.
