WHAT MAJOR FASHION CHANGE is associated with Punahou74’s entrance into Bishop Hall?
Would attending your 45th reunion be as much fun if the festivities were conducted at Rainbow Drive-In, at a nondescript Las Vegas hotel ballroom or while picnicking on Waikiki Beach?
Of course not.
Catching up with classmates may be the why you come to reunion but the where is just as important.
What was Then
The Punahou74 Walking Campus Tour will take you back to the Punahou School Campus c. 1961-1974; the thirteen years when Punahou74 students walked Ka Punahou’s storied lands.
This is not a “by the map” tour. This is an exploration of a place that, because of the relentless transformation of its buildings and grounds, is now known only in our hearts and minds.
It will tell the story of Punahou School as we remember it. As we knew it. As we lived it.
It will answer burning questions such as:
- Where did Punahou74 kindergarteners climb the jungle gym?
WHERE WAS THE JUNGLE GYM LOCATED that (L-R) Carolyn Ing, Lynne Gartley Meyer, Billy Richardson, and Dick Libbey stood on while Mrs. Bush looked on?
- How did the school react to President Kennedy’s assassination?
- What major fashion change was initiated by Punahou74’s entrance into Bishop Hall?
- Who made an indelible mark on Punahou’s feminist history?
- When did Punahou74 obtain dominion over several campus locales (and what were they)?
- Where can you find Punahou74’s senior gift to Punahou School? (And where is our 15th reunion gift?)
To encourage interaction the tour is strictly limited to fifteen participants.
