Thanks to Gaye Miyasaki we now have a plan for the karaoke night described in the last blog post.
Here’s what Gaye wrote:
I spoke to Dan of Wang Chung’s Karaoke Bar. A baby born in 1981. He’s from the mainland, just friends with my Punahou friends. He said Sunday is fine.
We will meet at 5:30 p.m. When they open. Songs are free until 8 pm on Sundays (Happy Hour) when you purchase drinks and pupus.
He said if you plan to drink it’s best to Uber or take a taxi.
The best parking is at the zoo for $1 per hour.
Ohana East has a flat rate of $15 for the night, but if the lot is full… Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is $2 for first 20 minutes and $1.50 for each 20 minutes after that up to $40 for a night. So if you plan to only stay for an hour or two, that would be about 5-6 dollars per hour, 10 -12 dollars for two hours.
The Zoo parking sounds like it’s the most economical option.
Walk down Kalakaua from the zoo until you get to Uluniu (by Hyatt). Go mauka up Uluniu and Ewa on Koa Street (to #2424 right behind the Hyatt). There’s no parking at the hotel and no validation.
Wang Chung’s is in the lobby of the Stay Hotel.
