Lynne Vuillemot Bosche was kind enough to recently forward an update about herself as well as pictures and comments regarding some mini reunions that she’s had with classmates. Hope you enjoy catching up just as much as I did.
Hi Lynne! Sorry I’ve taken so long to respond. I’ve seen four classmates and wanted to let you know about our mini reunions.
First, David Jones took Ann Harakawa and me out for a delightful dinner when Ann attended a sustainability conference in San Francisco last November. David is the CEO of Data Protection & Emerging Technologies which is a venture capital firm.
I had visited Ann both in NYC and Brooklyn. I loved checking out her city life. She is a Principal for Two Twelve, a prominent national graphic design firm located in lower Manhattan. I visited her office and learned about “wayfinding” and their projects with medical centers, universities, municipal projects as well as Olympic bids.
I also had the luck to make it to Portland last July. While there Lucy Hamilton Metcalf and her husband, Charlie hosted a delightful dinner party with Moira Scully Okrasinski, her husband E. B., along with several of our respective children. My husband John missed a bunch of fun.
Lucy Hamilton Metcalf and her husband have a design/build firm in Portland, Metcalf Construction, and she probably won’t mind if I tell you that a few years back, one of their striking modern home projects caught the eyes of filmmakers. So, in addition to living a 24/7 creative life surrounded by dogs, horses and art, Lucy and her husband are also the builders and decorators of the house occupied by the vampire family (the Cullens), in the smash first movie of the “Twilight” series!
Lucy is also involved in a new pursuit: equestrian energy work. The lucky horses that cross her path receive resolution to their problems be they behavioral (e.g. throwing their riders) or health (e.g. losing weight, lameness). It involves a lot of training and ends with a Pranic Healing certification; certification in a system of energy medicine that uses life force to balance, harmonize, and transform the body’s energy process.
Lucy’s son, Kent (my godson) has an only-in-Portland, thriving business: Double Decker PDX. He and his business partner run a double decker, classic red London bus that’s been converted to an eco-renovated party bus. They use the bus for wine country tours, club hopping or for just exploring the Portland area. So if you’re having a big party or convention in Portland, check them out!
Moira Scully Okrasinksi is an R. N. and has worked closely with her husband, E.B., who, as a veterinary surgeon specialist, is a founding member of the impressive Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma, WA. Last summer I met two of their three gorgeous, athletic, personality-plus daughters, and I believe one of them was fresh from an outrigger race on a nearby river.
Thanks for the updates, Lynne. Hope to hear from others of you who have also renewed your friendships with classmates.
