A Random Walk on the Punahou Carnival Grounds
January 26, 2010 by Punahou74
Remember what fun it would be to take a walk around the Carnival grounds in the days before the actual event? It was a time to discover what new rides had been set up, reaffirm where the food booths were located, and determine the best plan of attack for the big day.
In this post, we take a walk around the 2010 Carnival grounds. They’re a little different from how they were in 1973 but still resonate with the excitement that rests forever in the heart of every Punahou third grader from years gone by. Come see …
Kiddie games are now run in a tent beside Bishop Hall.
The Plant, Malasada, and White Elephant Tents are fixtures on the parking lot that fronts the Wo Center.
The game tent in front of Dillingham Hall and the Science Center.
Still plenty of rides on Lower Field!
The bowling lanes are probably the same ones used in '73.
Food tents on the left, Sound Booth dead ahead.
Kiddie rides are located beside Montague Hall. My favorite used to be the helicopters because you could control their movement up and down.
What's this? The Ewa Malasada Booth where the class of '74 will be working Friday night. Will you be there?
