If you read the previous post regarding Keith Uperesa’s battle with cancer, you might want to read this update regarding his current status.
Cancer’s a tough battle and it sounds like Keith’s in it for the long haul. He’s completed his radiation treatment and is now reporting regularly for follow up tests. Says Keith, “Things look good.”
Keith has resumed his duties on as UNLV football coach. With the soaring temperatures that are expected in Las Vegas this time of the year, it’s a challenge that goes beyond the medical. “I try to at least put in my full day at practice but it is pretty tough sometimes. The toughest thing is just to get my strength back.” Then, he adds, “being out here is the best remedy that I can have. I just have to remember to pace myself. My body is in control.”
If you’re in to football, take a look at the University of Hawaii game this weekend (8 p.m. PST, carried on CSTV and ESPN 1420 AM in Honolulu). They will be playing at UNLV and you just might catch a glimpse of Keith on the sidelines coaching the offensive line.
